The Stamford Yacht Club, in anticipation of the 75th Vineyard Race to be held in 2009 has announced the formation of a new organization for Vineyard Race veterans.

Diane McKeever wrote to tell us:

We at the Stamford Yacht Club are forming a new organization, in conjunction with the 75th Vineyard Race in 2009, for people who have raced in 10 or more Vineyard Races. This new group, the Buzzards Society, is being formed to honor those who have given up 10 or more Labor Day weekends to race up to Buzzards Bay and back. If you are a prospective Buzzard I need to know about it before February 15. We are planning a dinner in late March to initiate the new Buzzards.
