Innovative new Short handed race
A long time ship-mate and frequent partner in sailing capers with me one Norman Martin, has sent me this Notice of Race for a new event he is organizing on Mass bay this June.
Short-handed Sailing Association meeting Agenda
All parties interested in Short Handed Sailing are invited to a meeting of the SSA at 1130 at Sat 20 March at the Newport Yacht Club. The following is the agenda.

For all those who have been waiting with baited breath for the next meeting of the SSA, you can now exhale.
Again, thanks to the hospitality of the Newport Yacht Club, Roy Guay and the Bermuda 1-2 group, we will be holding a meeting of the SSA on the NYC premises 1130 Saturday 20 March 2010 for perhaps 90 minutes. I selected this date because interested sailors can get a twofer that day since the March Meeting of the Bermuda 1-2 group will be meeting in the after noon after we are done (and had lunch)
I will post a more formal agenda here in a week or so but for the time being the key issues to be considered will likely include:
A posting of the proposed Constitution for the SSA
Membership parameters including fees, what you get and in side and outside the website membership “wall”
By laws
IRS issues.

Vineyard Race alumni take notice!
The Stamford Yacht Club, in anticipation of the 75th Vineyard Race to be held in 2009 has announced the formation of a new organization for Vineyard Race veterans.
Medical Emergencies at Sea
Previously scheduled for November 1-2, 2008, now postponed until February.
The Short-handed Sailing Association has had to postpone this two day seminar originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday November 1-2, 2008 at the Seaman's Church Institute in Newport, RI.
